An escaped inmate has Wyoming authorities on the hunt

An escaped inmate has Wyoming authorities on the hunt. The inmate, who was being taken to jail, escaped from a rest area near Independence Rock in Casper. The Natrona County Sheriff’s office says Kenneth James Ward got away Saturday when the bus he was on stopped for a restroom break. The private prisoner transport company was taking him to a jail in Sweetwater County. It wasn’t immediately known what he was going to jail for. Ward was wearing handcuffs at the time of his escape, but was not wearing leg shackles, authorities said. The sheriff’s office says Ward has a violent history and shouldn’t be approached.
